Party Invitations: What to Write in Your Invitations
Throwing a party is the best way to share your success and happiness
with your friends and family. And it starts with a perfect invitation;
to inform your guests about your party. But most of us are lost when it
comes to creating the perfect piece and writing the proper words and
information.

There are different and proper wordings for birthdays, weddings,
graduation, and anniversary; as well as if your party is formal, casual
or informal. But whatever the purpose and style of your party there are
few things that always appear on your invitation; general information.
These are the important information needed to inform your guests
properly about your party. These includes the purpose of the party, name
of the honoree, exact date and time, exact location, dress code and name
of party host. The purpose of the party will inform your guests what the
party is for; whether it is for birthday, wedding, simple barbeque or
grand launching. It is also important to put the name of the honoree to
your invitation so that your guests will know who the party is for. Next
important information is the exact date, time and party location. These
information is definitely important so that your guests will know when
the party will be, what time and where should they go. On the other
informing your guests about the dress code is very considerate. That way
your guests will fit perfectly in the party that you planned; they will
know if they have to wear swim wear or evening gown. And of course
letting them know who the party host is will give them idea whom they
will contact about their attendance and occasional special requests.
The words will that appear in your invitation depends on the occasion
and party styles. If you are throwing a formal party your invitation
should also be formal, on the other hand if you are having a casual or
informal party set up your invitation should represent your purpose
well. Your invitation should set the tone of your party. If you are
having a formal, casual, romantic, plain or serious party proper

wordings will create the impression you want. You can use verses and
quotes as your introduction or your can also go straight to the point.
But remember that your guests’ first glimpse of your party is through
your invitation; how your invitation looks and what you have written on
it will set your guests’ mood. If you do extra for it, like writing
original lines and verses, your guests will conclude that you put extra
effort on your party and that it will be great and memorable. They will
also know how special this party is through your invitation. If,
possible never go for “fill-in the blanks” invitation especially if
you’re throwing a formal party.
Make sure that your wordings are readable and can be understood
easily; never go for small fonts and super light font colors. If the
location of your party is not familiar, you can also add direction or
simple map at the back of your invitation. Always remember putting
extras can create an impression that you really care for your guests and
that this party is something really special. Simplicity is beauty but
elaborating things on your invitation is something else; just remember
not to over-do things.
