Party Invitations: How to Make Your Own Invitation
When life gives us reason to celebrate the best thing to do is to
throw
a party. Whether you want it simple or majestic; the most
important step is to make sure your invitation is perfect. You can buy
ready made invitations or buy customized invitations through niche
market located near you or online. Or if you are creative and you have
the luxury of time, why not make your own invitations to spice things
up. Most of invitations available in the market nowadays are simple and
very generic looking. That is why if you want unique and more
personalized invitations, you can do it yourself.
To start with, you must decide on what is the perfect theme of your
party; the themes should suite the occasion and the honoree. When you
have decided on the theme you can rough sketch your idea for the
invitation; the style, materials to be use, font, color and location of
words. Making your own invitation is like building a house but it is
less complicated and more enjoyable. Next stop is gathering and buying
all the materials that you need. All materials are available in the
nearest bookstore or craft store; if you happen to have scrapbooking
materials these will also do. Here is the list of materials that you
need: printer, paper cutter, pair of scissors, specialty paper or board,
colored pens and pencils, trinkets and accessories, glue sticks and
envelopes.
When everything is ready, you can start making your invitations. You
can use designing programs like Photoshop and PageMaker but if you don’t
have or you’re not familiar with this program you can use Paint or MS
Words. It is advisable that you use your printer for the invitations
wordings and major details for cleaner more formal effect; but you want
to use typewriter or do manual labor you may do so. Cut the paper or
board according to your preferred size; you can use ordinary or special
scissors for these. If you want your invitations to be more special you
can add few accessories and designs. You can cut out flowers, ribbons,
buttons and other trinkets. You can also draw small details using your
colored pens and pencils.

How you design your invitations is up to you; just remember to stick
with your party theme and never over do things. Make sure that the
important information like reason for the party, honoree, exact time and
date, party venue, dress code and name of the host are all correct. RSVP
is also important so you can plan your party well; so never forget to
include it in your invitation.
Making your own invitation is time consuming but it is cheaper and
more enjoyable; especially when you do this together with your family or
friends. Plus the fact that you work hard in making your own invitations
makes everything more special.
